The first month-end came after Adrian, Mandlenkosi and Sonwabise “Soso” (from left to right in the photo above) had been working hard as Full Time Digital Marketers with Co-marketers – the placement firm that hired them upon their graduation from the Innovation Hub Africa (iHub).
So what do you do when you get paid a good full-time salary in USD from your first full-time job and you get your first monthly salary deposit in your bank account? You celebrate!!
We rejoice with Adrian, Marketing Operations Specialist, and Sonwabise and Soso, both Marketing & Data Researchers in the delight they had to spend some time (and a little of their paycheck) taking a short boat ride across the bay to tour Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned) and then enjoy some food and fun at the V&A Waterfront, a popular tourist destination in the heart of downtown Cape Town.
We’re sure that they’ll be saving most of their hard-earned new income and help out their families but it was sweet to be able to be able to rejoice with them in seeing new hope and promise in their eyes as they begin to see dreams they never thought possible now within reach for themselves and their families as they continue to grow in their digital careers.
