We had our first, successful community focus group (CFG) info and feedback session on May 25th at Tembalethu school in Gugulethu. We had a very good turnout of 11, comprised of parents, students, sports leaders, educators, business leaders, church leaders, and long-term community leaders giving us a very good cross-representation of the needs and perspectives of Gugs. Overall we received very favorable, consistent feedback that our design approach for the IH Program is just what the community needs. The breakout sessions provided us pages of very helpful, specific feedback and insights that will help us fine tune our approach before we launch the first phase of training in July and inform future stages as we move into job launch. The best thing that happened today was that we built new relationships with key influencers in the community which can only help us be more successful as we set out on this journey together.
I loved being able to get to know these community leaders!
