Organization Summary

The Hillsong Africa Foundation (HAF) was born in 2010 out of a desire to respond to the vast array of needs and challenges in the beautiful country of South Africa. The Foundation’s vision is simple and clear: “Building lives that will build the nation.” On average, they are currently impacting 1800 lives weekly through 50 programs run by 250 volunteers in 9 regions across South Africa.

HAF is currently running kids after school clubs, young leaders programs, art programs, sports programs, employment programs, and personal development courses for men, women, new parents, and students.

HAF has successfully run community development programs in Mitchells Plain and Gugulethu for the past 5 years.  HAF have worked within the local community engaging with leaders, stakeholders, community organisations and schools in order to develop programs which are targeted to the local needs and strengthens the local assets of a community.

HAF is a volunteer driven organisations utilizing local community members as well as qualified international volunteers. HAF implements a participatory approach which determines the direction of the projects and any new activities.

Although the organization was birthed out of Hillsong Church South Africa, Hillsong Africa Foundation Trust is registered as a Non-profit organisation with the Department of Social Development.

Their latest initiative, Innovation Hubs, involve the building and equipping of state-of-the-art space that accommodates a premium experience where families are strengthened and young people can be equipped to connect to the local and global economy.
